Masterflex® Peristaltic Pumps with Open-Head Sensor Interlock Provides Added Protection for Operators

 

Vernon Hills, Ill., November 18, 2016 — Masterflex peristaltic pumps with open-head sensor interlock, by Cole-Parmer, adds an extra layer of protection for technicians and operators tasked with tubing changes and routine maintenance. It is ideal for the pharmaceutical industry and other industries using peristaltic pumps. A retrofit system is available for adding this feature to pumps currently installed.

This technology is now available on Masterflex Easy-Load® pump heads compatible with all L/S® and I/P® drives. The extra layer of protection is particularly beneficial to prevent unexpected remote operation—when the pump is connected to a programmable logic controller or supervisory control and data acquisition system—similar to lockout/tagout procedures. Open-head sensors can also safeguard inexperienced or infrequent users of peristaltic pumps from injury while loading or changing tubing.

A retrofit solution is also available to upgrade existing Masterflex peristaltic pumps.

Run these reaction stations at the same temperature and stirring rates at several positions simultaneously. Select, measure, and display the temperature digitally, ensuring accuracy and avoiding the need for a glass thermometer. Test three samples simultaneously, viewing the melt via a magnifying lens with built-in illumination. Set a plateau temperature for initial warm-up—unattended warm-up time frees up the user until the plateau temperature is reached. Heating rate continues slowly between 0.5 and 10°C after the warm-up, slowly reaching the melt temperature for greater accuracy.

Save and recall up to seven temperatures per capillary. Three methods can be stored and repeated. Use the 5-pin mini DIN socket to connect to a printer (order separately). Adjust the viewing head two ways for better viewing and user comfort. The head can be moved forwards/backwards as well as tilted up to 126°. A convenient capillary storage compartment comes with a glass capillary cutter. Full access to the block allows for easy cleaning
